Kempton Panorama School scoops top LSEN award

One of the school's learners was also named the top LSEN learner at the awards

Kempton Panorama School’s class of 2019 can be proud of themselves.

The school scooped the top performing LSEN school award in Ekurhuleni at the annual Ekurhuleni Academic Excellence Awards hosted by executive mayor Mzwandile Masina.

At the awards, which was hosted at Alberton Civic Centre last week, one of Panorama’s matriculants, Jaydin Maude Spencer, was named the top performing LSEN learner.

The 2019 class of 11 matric learners also achieved a 100 per cent pass rate. It was the sixth consecutive year the school’s matrics achieved the feat.

The learners worked hard and achieved a class average of 56.2 per cent. This is an outstanding achievement because learners attending Kempton Panorama School have barriers to learning.

Dimitri Theron, principal of Kempton Panorama School, said the success could be attributed to committed staff and dedicated learners.

“The teachers and parents are very proud of these learners.”
