NPO is still going, 11 years on
NPO aims at improving young people’s lives through learning centres.
Ezekiel Thepuri Mohale, who founded a non-profit organisation Building Reconciliation Together in Limpopo, is slowly getting recognition across the country. The organisation focuses on building and empowering the youth. Currently running in three provinces, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and Gauteng, Mohale says there is much to be done.
According to Mohale, the organisation was established in 2009 in Limpopo before he moved to Gauteng to look for employment and to get the NPO’s paper work done accordingly.
“Coming from Limpopo, I knew that through my NPO I could achieve my dreams and visions. People lack knowledge because they lack ways of finding information.
“Through this NPO, we want to establish learning centres for the youth to access information, learners need to know about varsity open days and we need to help them apply and register on their own.”
Mohale said this has been his vision from the beginning, despite financial constraints due to lack of sponsorship, especially from the government.
“My aim is to meet with local municipality leaders, and through their permission have a centre in Tembisa where we can work.

“Recently, we visited Kwazinde Community Learning Centre in Tembisa and donated sanitary towels to them and hosted a few competitions, such as dance, modelling and poetry, where we awarded the learners certificates. “From the KZN group, we also reached out to three other schools and donated sanitary towels to them.”
Mohale doesn’t shy away from the fact that sometimes it gets relatively hard to work with a term that is not offered much.
“Learners in programmes sometimes walk away because the organisation doesn’t have enough financial support. “Other staff members also quit to find better jobs.
“Our aim is to help the youth in every community with their home work, and help them read under the Library Assistance programme. We will have a feeding scheme programme and a station where they can be computer literate and access relevant information.
“We call on local councillors in each province who would like to work hand-in-hand with us to contact us at 079 946 5073 or 078 918 9455 or email: ezekielseriesm@gmail.com,” said Mohale.
