Stage 2 load shedding until Thursday: your schedule

Citizens are urged to use electricity sparingly.

Eskom on Sunday evening announced stage 2 load shedding would continue until 6am on Thursday.

Rolling blackouts will be implemented for 18-hour cycles with no load shedding between 6am and 9am every day, when possible, to minimise the impact on traffic.

Unplanned outages or breakdowns were at 11 831 MW at 5pm on Sunday. While good progress had been made in replenishing water for pumped storage schemes, Eskom has not fully replenished diesel for its open cycle gas turbines.

Citizens are urged to use electricity sparingly.
