Load shedding continues until Friday: your schedule
There is also a possibility of load shedding over the weekend
Stage 2 load shedding will continue until Friday and most probably into the weekend as well.
Eskom on Wednesday also warned there was an increased possibility of load shedding the next 18 months as the utility is conducting critical maintenance to restore its ageing plants to good health.
“We don’t take the decision to implement load shedding lightly but the reality is that our generating infrastructure is constrained and unreliable,” said Eskom group chief executive André de Ruyter.
“It is regrettable for us to have to implement load shedding but it is unavoidable given the state of the generation infrastructure, as well as the unusually high demand.”
Eskom will continue to explore the possibility of providing load shedding respite during the morning rush hour in the week. Consumers are advised that any shifts on the system may require a change in the load shedding stage.
