Tembisan widows receive food parcels
'Our organisation is aiming to reach more widows this year as we rotate our campaign to different townships'
Life 4 U Foundation (L4U) continues to shine bright as they hosted their quarterly Widows Care Programme for the widows of Tembisa on February 2.
The programme moves between areas, such as Katlehong, Ivory Park and Tembisa, to support and motivate Gauteng widows by handing over food parcels.
Life 4 U Foundation founder Simon Molekwa said in their first quarter they managed to give 25 widows from Tembisa food parcels. Twenty-five more parcels will be given to widows in Alexandra.
“Our organisation is aiming to reach more widows this year as we rotate our campaign to different townships around Gauteng. Since the establishment of the programme, we have seen and felt the struggle and the pain most widows endure after burying their loved ones. The rejection and pain they feel cuts deep into one’s heart.
“We continue to be motivated by Isaiah 54:4-5: ‘Fear not, for you will not be ashamed; be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced; for you will forget the shame of your youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name.’
“Indeed God will never leave nor forsake the widows and the orphans, that is why God is using L4U to remind the widows that He cares and knows their burdens. All widows benefiting from this programme should always remember that the food parcels they are getting are an offering from God,” said Molekwa.
“Our organisation would like to thank Past John and Pearl Osa and the church of KHA Assembly for supporting the programme since inception in 2014 and our sponsor Iwisa Maize Meal for making sure no one in our community goes to sleep on an empty stomach. And not forgetting our volunteers and widows who support our programmes.”
