Meeting to discuss safety of residents during Glen Marikana move

Two contractors have been appointed for the relocation of Glen Marikana residents to the new land in Putfontein. People will be transported in buses and the shacks will be dismantled and erected in Putfontein.

The safety of residents during the Glen Marikana move is on the agenda at a community meeting scheduled for February 15 at 1pm at Avion Golf Club on Van Riebeeck Road.

The move of the settlement’s residents is set to start on February 24.

Also on the agenda is the high crime rate in the ward.

The SAPS district commander of Ekurhuleni North and Kempton Park SAPS station commander will be present to address residents’ concerns.
