Thembisa’s DJ Shimza is making international waves
Shimza to perform at Tomorrowland Festival.
Ashley Raphala, known as DJ Shimza, has done is again. He has been announced as one of the headline acts to play at the 2020 Tomorrowland Music Festival in Boom, Belgium.
Growing up in Tembisa in Ekhuruleni, DJ Shimza started his music career at the age of 16, and from there turned himself into a DJ mogul. He is an entertainer and a self-turned producer. Most people from Tembisa call him the king of music.
DJ Shimza has expanded his music and he is known internationally. His music has been dominating the charts in the previous years, and it still is.
In 2019, the DJ and producer was invited by Budweiser to perform at the Tomorrowland, playing at the Bud District camping site. This year, the music mogul will grace the Masquerade stage. Music lovers will get to see his skills on the decks on July 26, 2020. He will be sharing the stage with other entertainers from around the world, such as Claptone (Germany), Solardo (Manchester), Michael Bibi (UK) and Cloonee (UK).
With such milestones, the local community could not be more proud that he is actually from the streets of Tembisa.
DJ Shimza said, “I am extremely excited about playing Tomorrowland as it has always been my dream to play at one of the world’s biggest festivals. Playing at the Bud event last year gave me a unique opportunity to learn more about the festival and to be part of it. ”
“Going back to play alongside Claptone and others is beyond my imagination. I am grateful and cannot wait to rock Tomorrowland,” added Shimza.
Tomorrowland Festival is the world’s biggest dance music festival which brings an A-list line-up of DJs to Boom, in Belgium each summer. It was founded in 2005 and has since become one of the biggest festivals in the world. People from all over the world come together and get to share their music.
Previously, Tomorrowland hosted the likes of Tiesto, David Guetta, The Chainsmokers, Don Diablo, Faithless, Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas, DJ Snake and Alan Walker.
