Eskom ups load shedding to stage 3: your schedule
Breakdowns were at 10 612MW at 6am on Saturday morning
Eskom has implemented stage 3 load shedding from 9am on Saturday which will continue until 5am on Monday, the utility announced on Saturday morning.
Diesel reserves for open cycle gas turbines and water reserves for the hydro-pumped storage schemes were utilised extensively on Friday and overnight to supplement the shortage of capacity and are not at adequate levels to sustain the capacity shortage.
Breakdowns were at 10 612MW at 6am on Saturday morning, while planned maintenance was at 6 574MW.
Kempton Park’s schedule for Saturday until Sunday morning is:
9am – 10.30am: The 2014 schedule indicates geyser ripple control but the metro this week confirmed this is not applicable anymore – no further details available.
10am – 1pm: Glen Marais, Allen Grove, Norkem Park, Birchleigh Extensions and Bonaero Park
12.30pm – 3.30pm: Birch Acres, Terenure, Edleen, Van Riebeeck Park, Kempton West
3pm – 6pm: Bredell, Pomona, Glen Marais Extensions (49, 52, 89 & 98), Serengeti, Brentwood Park, Aston Manor, Nimrod Park, Parts of Kempton Park Ext 2 & Ext 4
