Mayibuye youngster has a passion for modelling

Zwane proves that consistency pays off.

Gugulethu Bianca Zwane (19), from Thembisa Mayibuye Section, has proven that if you are destined to do something there is no obstacle or challenge that will stop you from doing it.

“My modelling journey has not been an easy one. Before I started, everything was blurry. I didn’t know where to start or who to approach for assistance.

“Luckily, my cousin introduced me to Beverly Madia who has been my mentor ever since. Passion has kept me going at all times,” said Zwane.

Modelling has never been an easy thing to do, but if one has the passion for it, it becomes easy. For decades, modelling was a silent profession but things have changed for the better. Now, models are given much credit and respect. For Zwane, it could not have been any better.

Zwane says she looks up to Naomi Campbell because of her boldness and her consistency.

Most people think that all it takes to become a model is to just have a pretty face, which is wrong. It is all about hard work and perseverance. A lot goes into modelling than change of clothes or wanting to win a title.

“In order to grow in this industry you have to give yourself time. Time to fail, time to realise your flaws and time to spread your wings and unleash all the potential you have as a person,” said Zwane.

When asked about her highlights of the events she usually attends, Zwane wasted no time in saying, “I attended the Face of Kai One Movement the previous year and earlier this year. One of my favourite part of this event is that it touches on the importance of why the youth should be enthusiastic and to also strive to get what you need in life,” said Zwane.

She has previously won the Miss Midrand 2018 and Miss Glamorous Charity Ambassador 2019. She also scooped the Morning Star first princess 2019, Miss Birchleigh first princess 2019, Miss Birchleigh overall look 2019 and the Face of Kai One first princess 2019. Earlier this year, she scooped the Miss Teen Phenomenal South Africa 2020.

As Miss Regal International South Africa 2020 finalist, Zwane wants to stay true to herself. She wants to stay humble and remember why she wants to grow within this industry, without forgetting where it all started.

“My vision is to give back to my community at all times. As much as I need to grow, there’s still my community to give back to. Modelling on its own has opened a lot of doors for me even though I am yet to be where I want to be,” added Zwane
