Coca-Cola to welcome new schools to recycling project

Thembisa High School joined the programme last year.

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa invites schools to the Schools Recycling Meet and Greet at Rabasotho Community Hall on March 2.

This meeting will serve as a platform to welcome new participating schools to the 2020 schools recycling programme.

The event starts at 9am and ends at 1pm.

Thembisa High School joined the programme last year.

Mulalo Ngobeni, the school’s project coordinator, said this has been a great project to be part of. The team behind the project is incredible.

“We work with a group of 10 learners and call ourselves the Eco-club. Learners from the Eco-club motivate other learners to partake in this project and usually handle the collection of the recyclable bottles.

“We joined in July, but in August we were the number-one collectors of recyclable material. Later we received a cheque of R20 000,” said Ngobeni.

Ngobeni encouraged other schools to join the project to keep our environments clean.
