Glen Marikana interdict withdrawn: move continues
There are four water lines and chemical toilets.
Glen Marikana residents will continue relocating to the new land in Putfontein as the interdict to stop the move was withdrawn.
This was heard at the South Gauteng High Court on Thursday morning.
According to ward councillor Jaco Terblanche, the outcome was expected as contrary to the complaints, the metro did comply with the requirements.
“The quality of services being provided at the Putfontein land is in line with the minimum standards of governments,” said Terblanche.
“The only things outstanding are the high-mask lights and electricity. They are busy processing the high-mast lights and the MMC of Human Settlement Lesiba Mpya promised electricity after the budget, which will be after July.”
Terblanche also said currently, there are four water lines and chemical toilets.
“The basic services are being provided and the move can continue. Over 400 people had already been moved to Putfontein by February 28.
