Good Samaritan shares his 60th birthday at Haya Ha Fhulufhelo Centre
His initial goal was to spend his 60th birthday on a cruise ship with his friends and have a grand party
The children and elderly people at Haya Ha Fhulufhelo Community Centre in Winnie Mandela Zone 2, Thembisa, were pampered with treats after businessman Frederick Amoateng spent his birthday with them.
“Initially, the goal was to spend my 60th birthday on a cruise ship with my friends and have a grand party,” said Amoateng.
“But a colleague of mine told me about this centre and it touched me that there are less privileged people out there and that is how I came about to celebrate my birthday at this centre.”
He said that he couldn’t have made a better decision and explained that seeing the smiles on the children and elderly people made his birthday one of the best.

The people at Haya Ha Fhulufhelo Community Centre were treated with various food to choose from. Amoateng spent the whole day with the children and elderly people. He added that he does not plan to stop here, going forward he would donate to the centre.
Tendani Patricia Munyai, owner of Haya Ha Fhulufhelo, said, “I am very thankful to Amoateng. Not many people would decide to spend their birthday at a community centre but he did. Both the children and old people are touched and delighted.”
Munyai said that the little that one does for the children and old people brings a smile to them. She did not think that this party would eventually take place.
“I hope he doesn’t stop here. He must go on to help others as he has helped us today. On behalf of the people of Haya Ha Fhulufhelo, we thank him for the good deeds he has done for us,” said Munyai.
She said that she is grateful to everyone who constantly makes contributions to the centre. She added that the reason the Haya Ha Fhulufhelo Community Centre is running is because of people like Frederick Amoateng.
