Pump fixed but load-shedding continues: your schedule

Eskom therefore expect that load-shedding at various stages may continue into the weekend

Although the pump fault at Koeberg Unit 1 had been fixed, stage 4 load-shedding will continue until Friday at least.

The pump is running again and Eskom is in the process of obtaining regulatory approval in order to synchronise the unit back to service by Sunday.

Eskom therefore expect that load-shedding at various stages may continue into the weekend.

Emergency generation reserves are currently being used to supplement supply. Some generation units were expected to return to service on Wednesday evening which would help to ease the supply constraints.

“It is only through partnership between Eskom and all stakeholders that we may soon emerge from these difficult times. We urge every South African to cooperate in managing electricity consumptio with care to help minimise load-shedding,” Eskom said.
