Dladla’s company aims to empower young women

Women are invited to an upcoming event in Olifantsfontein Community Centre.

Gugnate Pty (Ltd) will be hosting an event for women of all ages on March 21 at Olifantsfontein Community Centre.

The event aims to empower girls in Grade 12, as well as those who are doing their first year at varsities.

Founder of Gugnate Pty Gugulethu Dladla said, “We want to prepare women spiritually, physically and mentally. The theme of the event is it is never too late to learn.

“Based on the research we did at TUT, Unisa and UJ, girls in their early 20s go to university for freedom. Many of them are out of sight from their parents for the first time and this exposes them to alcohol and having unprotected sex,” said Dladla.

She added that Gugnate Pty (Ltd) is focusing on reaching out to three generations of women.

“To younger women in their 20s, we inspire them into become independent, through talks we do in high school, tertiary institutions and other events,” said Dladla.

Dladla’s company aims to heal women in their 30s and 40s from their past and help them find their purpose in life.

“Many of these women have lost their life partners, are divorced or are facing abuse as well as life challenges. We offer them counselling and advice on the best effective services that can help them in their situation.”
