
Livhuwani Michael Thobakgale (34) was sentenced to 30 years behind bars for the murder of his girlfriend Kgaugelo Jealtor Makananfise at Winnie Mandela zone 4.
In March 2019 Thobakgale visited his girlfriend at her house. In the evening the neighbours heard a commotion coming from a room.
Later they saw him chasing Makananfise while stabbing her with a sharp object.

Capt Manyadza Ralidzhivha, Rabasotho SAPS communications officer, said she was stabbed multiple times.
“The tenants and owner of the house called an ambulance and police to the scene. She was found lying in a pool of blood and was certified dead on the scene.
“The investigating officer traced that suspect. He was found injured at a hospital where he was immediately placed under arrest,” said Ralidzhivha.
He appeared before Judge du Plessis at the Johannesburg High Court. Thobakgale was found guilty of the murder of Kgaugelo Jealtor Makananfise.
“Thobakgale was sentenced to 30 years behind bars. He was further declared unfit to possess a firearm.
“The SAPS would like to thank all the witnesses who gave evidence against the suspect. Your help in getting a conviction and sentence is appreciated,” said Ralidzhivha.
