Lockdown: Only these stores are open at Festival Mall
Gates on Kelvin Road next to Game and Home Corp have been closed, as well as the gate on H Lewis Road.
Fourteen tenants at Festival Mall are exempted from the nationwide lockdown.
These were identified as providing essential services to the public and will therefore remain open throughout the three-week lockdown.
Though they will be operating, trading hours have been altered.
“Festival Mall supports the action taken to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 and therefore partially close the mall from Friday (March 27),” said Daphne Smith, centre manager.
“Confirmed stores to trade during the shutdown are Checkers Hyper, Pick n Pay, Game, Woolworths, Dischem, Clicks, Standard Bank, Nedbank, First National Bank, Absa, Capitec (only banking mall branch), African Bank, Caltex and Walk in Doctors and Dentist.
“We ask that our shoppers use the gates at the Caltex traffic circle to enter the mall and access the mall at entrance one (Dischem) through under-parking or entrance four (Pick n Pay) through open-parking.”
Smith told Express that entrances two and three had been closed.
Gates on Kelvin Road next to Game and Home Corp had been closed, as well as the gate on H Lewis Road.
All parking is free during the shut-down period.
“During this time, our security complement will be present, as well as our cleaning staff. We will continue to provide sanitisation stations and disinfect public touch points throughout,” explained Smith.
“Our public toilets will remain open during this time. Our top priority is to protect the health and safety of our store employees, shoppers and all personnel working in our centre.”
