What are you going to do after the lockdown?

The people of Thembisa have already made plans for what they want to do first thing after the lockdown.

Since the lockdown started on March 27, people have started reflecting on what it is they would like to do after lockdown is lifted.

People around Thembisa are no exception. We took to the streets to ask them about the one thing they look forward to doing after the 21 days of lockdown.

Wendy Magau, from Isithame section, said: “March 28 was my birthday and I had planned to go all out to celebrate it. I am planning on celebrating my birthday on April 17 because I did not get the chance to do so.”

While Wendy wants to celebrate her birthday, others are looking forward to going to work, while others are looking forward to seeing their friends or going to school.

Thabang Seshibedi from Emoyeni section said: “I am looking forward to seeing my friends at school because I have missed them a lot. I also cannot wait for all the homework that they are going to give us at school.”

Wendy Magau from Isithame section said that she will be celebrating her birthday that was on March 28.

The lockdown has forced many people to do a self-introspection on matters that are most important to them.

Khutso Mathebula, from Isithame, said: “Going home to see my family is the one thing I am highly looking forward to. I last saw them in December and that was a long time ago.”

Mbulelo Tshebe, who is also from Emoyeni section, said that he is a street vendor so first thing he wants to do is to be able to sell to his customers.

Others want to do something they have always wanted to do, but were sceptical and some want to take a trip they had wished for.

Lindiwe Hlongwane, from Rabasotho, said: “When everything has settled down I want to take that trip that I have been longing for. I kept postponing, but this lockdown has made me reflect on everything that I don’t want to miss out on.”

Mbulelo Tshebe said that he just wants to be able to sell vegetables to his customers.

 

Thabang Seshibedi said that the first thing he is going to do is see his friends because he missed them and playing outside.

 

Khutso Mathebula from Isithame said that she cannot wait to go home and see her family.
