Owl Rescue asks not to be forgotten during lockdown
You can help Owl Rescue by ‘adopting’ an owl or by purchasing bundles of spekboom from their centre.
As the lockdown continues across the globe due to the coronavirus outbreak, Owl Rescue Kempton Park asked not to be forgotten.
Financially, circumstances have been challenging for the centre, with 2020 being the most difficult year yet. The centre is stretched to its limit with rescues increasing and funds diminishing.
They appealed for wildlife not to be forgotten.
Rescues will continue during the lockdown with the necessary precautions taken to keep staff safe. All other services are on hold.
This is how you can support the centre:
• Continue to purchase conservation products such as owl houses, bat houses, etc. These will be installed/delivered as soon as the lockdown is over. Visit the online store at www.owlrescuecentre.org.za/Our-Store/.
• Make a donation. Their banking details are Owl Rescue Centre NPC, Nedbank current account, 103 081 9580, branch 198 765, reference: donation and your name.
• ‘Adopt’ an owl or sponsor a portion of the centre’s operational costs (www.owlrescuecentre.org.za/Donations-Sponsorship/).
• Purchase spekboom. For an additional R2 per plant, the centre will plant them for you at your offices/school/estate. Visit www.owlrescuecentre.org.za/Spekboom-Project/
• Buy a Kindle copy of My Dark Country (www.amazon.com/My-Dark-Country-culture-violence- ebook/dp/B0788PWDDK). Proceeds will go to owl rescues.
