Covid-19: Follow this link for live updates

The website is available at no charge and includes a live feed of current South African Covid-19 statistics.

The Department of Health (DoH) recently issued a data-free website that provides live updates on Covid-19 statistics in South Africa.

These statistics include the amount of Covid-19 tests conducted, positive cases identified, negative cases identified, as well as the death rate, which currently sits at zero.

There are links to the latest available statements made by the DoH, including ones from the Minister of Health, Zweli Mkhize.

Since the site is free, it issues a warning when a link containing data charges is selected. Other tabs on the website include:

– ‘Don’t Panic’ which states that 82 per cent of the virus is mild, and that six per cent of patients need intensive care.

– ‘Symptoms’ listed to look out for.

– Preventative tips against coronavirus.

– ‘What is Covid-19?’

– ‘Four ways you can help contain the spread of Covid-19’

The website includes an Emergency Hotline that can be contacted on 0800 089 999, as well as the WhatsApp Support line on 0600 123 456.
