NPOs and community leaders distribute food parcels in Madelakufa

Community-based organisations carry out the spirit of ubuntu during the lockdown.

Gauteng Young Vision, a non-profit organisation, donated food parcels at MadelkKufa extension, Thembisa, on April 4 to help the needy during the lockdown.

Georgette Naidoo from Coca Cola beverages SA teamed up with Gauteng Young Vision and Hope to Infinity to donate 100 food parcels to the poor and vulnerable families in Thembisa.

Gauteng Young Vision manager Elias Sibeko said the project was successfully implemented with the help of local community leaders.

“We encourage the citizens to honour President Ramaphosa’s statement on social distancing to prevent the coronavirus pandemic. We continue to reach out to those less fortunate and plea with our beloved citizens to stay safe all the time.

“Gauteng Young Vision is based in 423 Ethafeni Section in Thembisa, and it was established in 2015 solely to help the community,” said Sibeko.

If you would like to help the organisation, contact them on Facebook: Gauteng Young Vision or WhatsApp them at 078 216 6139.
