Van Riebeeck Park father shot during house robbery

Norkem Park SAPS is searching for three African male suspects

A resident from Van Riebeeck Park was wounded in the chest during a house robbery at about 7am on April 10 on De Wiekus Road.

The resident was taken to Thembisa Hospital.

According to Sgt Johanna Madiga, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, the victim was with his son when the home was invaded.

“Three armed gained entry into the house through the front door. One suspect, carrying a revolver, demanded money. The suspect fired a shot at the dad and tied him up with his son’s necktie. The suspects searched the house and took items such as laptops, cellphones, money and keys,” said Madiga.

The suspects then fled the scene.

Madiga confirmed a case of house robbery and attempted murder had been opened.
