Seven taken to Sebenza SAPS for roaming the streets

Of the nine arrested, one was brought to book for carrying liquor

Seven people were charged at Sebenza SAPS on Tuesday for not adhering to lockdown regulations.

According to Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso, EMPD officials brought in seven citizens on charges of roaming the streets in the area.

“Sebenza SAPS arrested a further two citizens. One was carrying liquor in public and the other was an illegal immigrant.”

Tsotsotso commended the community for upholding order in the area. “We are very lucky because the people are cooperating very well.”

She says lockdown operations are in place as they do regular patrols to observe the streets and residential activity. Additionally, Sebenza officials are stationed at various locations to facilitate roadblocks.
