Three caught with vehicle jamming device

The vehicle was spotted on Isimuku Street in Birch Acres with one suspect inside.

Three men had been arrested by Norkem Park SAPS on April 18 with a vehicle jamming device in their possession.

According to Sgt Johanna Madiga, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, two members were doing patrols around Birch Acres around 12.40pm when they acted on a call for backup from Sebenza to be on the lookout for a getaway car following an alleged hijacking incident.

The suspects escaped in a white Hyundai Accent and were involved in an accident on Green Avenue.

The vehicle was spotted on Isimuku Street in Birch Acres with one suspect inside.

Madiga said the officers noticed the vehicle’s rear bumper was missing. Upon questioning the suspect, he pointed out his two accomplices who were arrested near Birch Acres Mall.

Upon searching the men, a vehicle jamming device was found in one’s pocket.
