WATCH: Police step in to control crowd waiting for food

Police ordered the disappointed residents to go back home

Kempton Park SAPS had to disperse over 200 residents who gathered outside the Methodist Church on Van der Walt Street in Kempton Park CBD on Wednesday afternoon waiting to receive food parcels.

Residents who assembled in front of the church premises broke the lockdown regulations of social distancing.

They did not receive food parcels but were told to write down their names and phone numbers so they could be alerted once the church received food to distribute to them.
