Hospice East Rand takes strain with charity shops closed

Hospice East Rand needs your help.

This non-profit organisation provides specialised care to patients with life-limiting illnesses and relies heavily on the income derived monthly from its 10 charity shops and bookshop.

“The effects of the lockdown are affecting Hospice East Rand terribly in that all of our charity shops are closed and unable to trade,” said Jonquil Siepman, who is in charge of marketing.

“The pandemic is affecting us in a very bad way. No monthly income from our charity shops is having a serious effect on our finances and on our ability to continue to offer palliative care to our patients,” said Brenda Bisschoff, administration manager for Hospice East Rand. We appeal to the community to please assist during this stressful time by making a donation to the organisation, no matter how big or small. “Every rand counts and we would be so grateful,” said Bisschoff.

Donations can be made via EFT, Payfast or Snapscan. The Payfast and Snapscan information can be found on www.hospiceeastrand.co.za
