Owl Rescue launches colouring contest
It is educational, creative and it gives something back at the same time.
At just R20 per entry, children now have a means to show their true colours during this lockdown by decorating an owl picture.
Not only is it a means to kill some time and ease boredom, but it’s an initiative that will breathe life into the care for Kempton Park’s wildlife.
The aim of the competition, organised by Owl Rescue, is to create awareness in protecting owls and other species among the youth in general as well as raising much needed funds for the sanctuary. Each entrant will receive an electronic certificate of participation.
This is a great activity to have the children work on at home during the pandemic. It is educational, creative and is giving back at the same time.
The Owl Rescue Centre is actively involved in the education of learners, students, the community and the general public about the necessity of owl conservation.
There are awesome prizes up for grabs as well as a prize for the school with the most entries.
The competition is open to children of all ages and more than one entry per child is permitted.
Entries will be judged by centre staff based on creativity, colouring skill and overall artistic ability according to the specific age category: 5 to 7 years, 8 to 10 year, 11 years and older.
All entries must be original and entirely created by the entrant. There are no restrictions on what medium or colour the entrant uses to design their owl art colouring sheet.
More than one entry per child is permitted. Please ensure a valid email address of a parent or guardian is supplied.
Entries close on Friday, July 17.

Winners will be notified via email to the email address provided on the entry form. There will be three winners in each age category.
