G4S Cash Solution workers robbed at gunpoint at Birch Acres Mall

No-one was injured during the robbery.

Two G4S Cash Solution workers were robbed of a firearm and other items worth over R30 000 at gunpoint at Birch Acres Mall on April 29.

According to Sgt Johanna Madiga, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, the two men were at the mall to collect money from a retail store.

“The driver parked outside the mall entrance and a guard proceeded into the store, carrying an empty cash box. As he was making his way out of the mall to the vehicle, he was approached by four unknown armed men.

Two suspects pointed their firearms at him, one from the front and the other from the back. The third suspect shouted at the guard to not attempt to use his weapon.

“The suspects fired four shots, of which one hit the vehicle’s window on the driver’s side. The robbers fled the scene in a white Toyota Etios sedan,” said Madiga.

No-one was injured during the robbery.
