Hospice creates wall of compassion for Hospice week
Hospices will use this week to raise awareness about the essential service they provide

May 3-10 is Hospice Week, a week in which to raise awareness about hospices and the valuable assistance they provide patients with life-limiting illnesses as well as the support given to family members.
The theme for this year’s Hospice Week is Passion for Compassion. The aim for the week is to demonstrate compassion in communities and to reflect on the compassionate care that hospice workers provide for patients and their families.
Hospices will use this week to raise awareness about the essential service they provide regardless of the patients’ age, race or ability to pay.
Hospice East Rand affirms its belief that it is not about death and dying but rather about life and living and the quality of life for those with life-limiting illnesses.
Residents can write their story/message of compassion on the organisation’s Facebook page to create a wall of compassion. The aim is to share stories of compassion and increase the passion for compassion within our communities.
