Mass screening of metro employees undertaken at civic centres
Constant screening will continue at different working stations in the coming weeks
Over 2000 City of Ekurhuleni employees were screened for Covid-19 in line with the level 4 regulations on Monday.
The regulations require screening of all employees that are returning to their workplaces, and furthermore in contributing to the need to do more tests to detect any case/s of Covid-19.
“The City is conducting mass screening for both essential workers, workers that are working remotely and employees who are on lockdown in accordance with government’s guidelines on management of Covid-19,” said Themba Gadebe, the metro’s spokesperson.
“The screening is happening at Kempton Park, Springs, Boksburg and Germiston civic centres.”
Gadebe also said mass screening of employees would include both questionnaire and temperature screening.
“Constant screening will continue at different working stations in the coming weeks,” said Gadebe.
