27 arrested in Kempton Park CBD for various crimes

Kempton Park SAPS arrested 27 people in Kempton Park CBD over the weekend.
According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson Sgt Dipuo Ditshego, the crimes ranged from contravention of the Disaster Management Act, theft out of a motor vehicle, possession and dealing in dagga, housebreaking, theft, shoplifting, assault to cause grievous bodily harm, driving under the influence of alcohol, possessions of suspected stolen property and tampering with government infrastructure.
Kempton Park SAPS station commander Brig Samuel Maredi said they would continue with these operations to make Kempton Park a crime-free area.
“In terms of the Disaster Management Act we will make sure that compliance is adhered to by members of the public, such as wearing masks and keeping social distance,” said Maredi.
