Gauteng Young Vision continues to give back to community

The majority of people going hungry and those living in poverty have increased

Gauteng Young Vision, a non-profit organisation, continues to give back to the community of Thembisa during these difficult times.

Georgette Naidoo from Coca-Cola beverages South Africa (CCBSA) teamed up with Gauteng Young Vision to donate 532 cooldrinks to needy families in Thembisa and Daveyton.

Ellias Sibeko, known as CaptainSA and Gauteng Young Vision manager, said they have noted that a number of people have been affected badly by the coronavirus pandemic.

“The majority of people going hungry and those living in poverty have increased, and entrepreneurs and small businesses have also been affected,” said Sibeko.

Gauteng Young Vision donates cooldrinks to Tshepang Care Centre.

“With entrepreneurs’ and small businesses’ donations, we we’re able to reach the needy through our teamwork as a community-based organisation.

“Sibeko added that people are now depending on food parcels.

“Gauteng Young Vision and Coca-Cola reached out to the vulnerable societies to give a hand in donating drinks. The beneficiaries are Tshepang Care Centre, Bulamahlo Care Centre, Obesity Care Centre, First St Paul Apostolic Church in SA all in Thembisa and individual homes of need in Winnie Mandela, Ecaleni section, Leboeng, Tswelopele, Emangweni, Ibaxa, Dalimpofu squatter camp, Mashimong, Isiziba, Mqantsa, Sedibeng and Kanana.

“Gauteng Young Vision leadership believes in its society and loves giving back to the community because it is a privilege,” he added.

“The hands that help are holier than the lips that pray. Special thanks to Coca-Cola in Gauteng as they played a major role by assisting Gauteng Young Vision in reaching the needy through this charitable programme. Gauteng Young Vision Youth and its volunteers were screened before conducting to the handover,” concluded Sibeko.
