At around noon on May 9 members of Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) followed up information leading to a residence in Esiphetweni Section, Thembisa, where two brothers were arrested for possession of dagga and bribery.
A large quantity of loose dagga were found in black bags in a room of the house.
WO Grant Giblin, communications officer for BFS, said a suspect was arrested immediately and the dagga, weighing more than 4.5kg, confiscated.
“Before leaving the scene, the suspect’s brother arrived and offered BFS members R5 000 for the release of his brother. Upon handing over the money, he was immediately arrested and the money booked in as evidence,” Giblin said.
