The due date was extended as a result of the lockdown
The Municipal Demarcation Board (MDB) has published the revised programme following the declaration of state of disaster and lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus for the provision of comments and input on the draft ward maps.
In terms of the revised programme, all municipalities that were consulted prior to the declaration of state of disaster and lockdown have to submit their written submissions by no later than May 31.
The City of Ekurhuleni was consulted on March 12 by the MDB, after three stakeholder engagements by the City on proposed ward demarcations.
The due date for submitting written comments and input to the MDB was April 30. It was extended to May 31 due to the Covid-19 lockdown, said Themba Gadebe, spokesperson for the City.
If you did not submit comments already, you can still make your submission on the MBD form and ensure that it reaches the Office of the Speaker of Council by no later than May 28 or is emailed directly to the MDB (registry@demarcation.org.za) by May 31.
