Organisation provides food parcels to Vusimuzi and Sangweni residents
Mtshali said the food parcels were also donated to those residing in Vusimuzi informal settlement.
The Siphiwe Dropping Centre donated no less than 100 food parcels to the needy people in Sangweni Section, Thembisa, on May 26.
Chairperson of Siphiwe Dropping Centre Michael Mtshali said:
“We are giving food parcels to children who we as an organisation are working with, as well as those attending Siphiwe Primary School.”
Mtshali said the food parcels were also donated to those residing in Vusimuzi informal settlement. He said each person received a food parcel worth R370.
“We give to those who are needy and vulnerable. Since our organisation is working with Siphiwe Primary, we also gave food parcels to the school,” said Mtshali.
He explained this is their way of giving back to the community of Thembisa. Mtshali said last month they were also able to give away 100 food parcels.
“Our organisation is sponsored by the Department of Social Development. The main aim of Siphiwe Dropping Centre is to help those in need. We have our caregivers, coordinators, managers, social auxiliary, admin and board members who are doing a great job in helping out to the community. The Siphiwe Dropping Centre could not have pulled this off if it was not for the whole team.”
