Makro partners with OneCart to assist customers

To ensure that they meet the needs of customers, in excess of 11 000 of Makro’s grocery range will be available on OneCart’s website for purchase

Makro has partnered with delivery service, OneCart, which will allow customers greater access to Makro’s wide range of groceries and liquor.

This service comprises groceries and liquor at selected stores.

Makro has seen an incredible increase in demand for online shopping, particularly on groceries, since the implementation of the national lockdown. Customers are finding ways to keep safe while shopping, which makes online such an attractive alternative.

To ensure that they meet the needs of customers, in excess of 11 000 of Makro’s grocery range will be available on OneCart’s website for purchase.

In addition, a selected range of about 124 liquor items are also available online, with a strict adherence to government’s lockdown Level 3 liquor sales regulations.

Minimum quantities are in place in order to support responsible drinking as well as ensure that all customers have fair access to the drinks they enjoy.

Onecart will offer the following stores a delivery service on both food and liquor, which is limited to a 15km catchment area of each store:
Johannesburg: Germiston, Woodmead,
Pretoria: Silverlakes
Kwa-Zulu Natal: Cornubia.

The following stores will have only liquor available, also limited to a 15km catchment area:
Johannesburg: Strubens Valley, Centurion, Riversands,
Kwa-Zulu Nata : Springfield
Western Cape: Montague Gardens and Cape Gate.

Additional stores will be included and launched in the coming weeks.

“Makro remains dedicated to enhancing our customer’s shopping experience and, through the new partnership, we aim to also improve on our delivery services,” says Dean Bauer, vice president of supply chain and e-commerce.

Even during these uncertain times in the country, Makro remains committed to the fight against the spread of Covid-19. The health and safety of all customers are top priority. Therefore, the drivers will at all times have hand sanitiser and a face mask. No physical contact will be made between the driver and the customer, and a safe social distance will be complied with at all times.
