Norkem Park Police Station opens after decontamination

The public is asked to wear masks and to maintain social distancing

Norkem Park Police Station has reopened to serve the public after it has been decontaminated since its closure on Monday.

The station was closed after an officer tested positive for Covid-19 and was reopened on Wednesday morning.

According to Norkem Park SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Johanna Madiga, the officer was asymptomatic and had been placed under quarantine for 14 days.

The public is asked to wear masks and to maintain social distancing at all times when visiting the station.

Station Commander Col Johannes Tau thanked everyone for their patience during these trying times. The community should keep safe by staying home, he said.
