Panorama learners build cattle trailer

Learners involved said they enjoyed the project and it gave them something positive to focus on amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

A nice surprise awaited Grade Seven learners of Kempton Panorama School when they returned on June 8.

They were tasked to build a cattle trailer and approached the project with sheer enthusiasm.

Workshop teacher Louis Cilliers was approached by a local farmer during the lockdown to assist with specific requirements of building a trailer.

The new school term was therefore approached with optimism and excitement for the new project.

Dean van Jaarsveld, one of the learners involved in the project, said he never thought they would be able to build such a big trailer.

He learned that through step-by-step instructions from Cilliers anything is possible.

Cilliers is satisfied with the end product and said he would be interested in doing more similar projects in future.

He would also be able to refurbish used trailers, build bike trailers, 4×4 trailers, boat trailers or customise trailers according to the needs of clients.
