Following a search operation in the Rietvlei Wetlands on Soutpansberg Drive in Van Riebeeck Park on July 15, EMPD officials found stolen cables valued at R12 000.
The search formed part of continued investigations surrounding an alleged illegal lumber-jacking of environmentally protected trees in the area.The stolen cables weighing around 11kgs were booked in to the Norkem Park Police Station.
