
A man was arrested just after midnight on the morning of August 13, following an incident in which a Volkswagen Polo crashed into a wall in Reinert Street.
Norkem Park SAPS spokesperson Sgt Johanna Madiga said that a patrol vehicle received a complaint of reckless and negligent driving in Edleen.

“On arrival, police searched the vehicle and found one unlicensed firearm and the 30-year-old was arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and reckless and negligent driving. Upon further search of the car another firearm was located.”
Madiga also added that the suspect was detained at Norkem Park SAPS holding cells and on further criminal checks of the suspect, it was registered that he had previous criminal charges for possession of stolen vehicles and property in the Tembisa precinct.
“Another suspect, believed to be a relative of the arrested 30-year-old, fled the scene on foot and police are on his trail.”
