WATCH: Cavendish Glen essential workers groove to Jerusalema

Cavendish Glen’s essential workers turned to the Jerusalema dance challenge on Friday to celebrate spring and connect with their consumers to share hope amid the ongoing pandemic.

Various departments from the shopping centre took part in the challenge with the hottest song that has taken the world by storm by Master KG and Nomcebo.

Participants were excited and dressed in colourful outfits to represent spring.

Most enthusiastic dancers and best dressed dancer received cash vouchers worth R300.

Manager of Intercare at the centre, Ada Botes, said spring is the time when everything in nature is changing and promises new life and hope.

“We hope the the dance challenge will inspire our community members to see the light at the end of the tunnel and smile as they think about all that spring brings,” said Botes.

Portia Maphoto, the receiving admin at Checkers Glen Marais, took home the best dressed prize.

“I was so surprised at winning and completely didn’t expect it because there were so many amazing women with style. Its amazing winning though, I’m glad I was comfortable in my own skin. My personality matched my outfit,” said Maphoto.

Motume Mothapo, who won the most enthusiastic prize with her performance, said she was glad to win.

“It is an exciting, fleeting moment of well-earned recognition that will be cherished as a special memory. I’m so proud,” said Mothapo.
