Mooifontein Cemetery in Norkem Park reveals increasingly grim realities since an abandoned baby’s body was found on September 19.
The Express reported yesterday that the body of a man was also found at the cemetery on Monday.

“The body was found inside the cemetery next to the palisade. The upper body was covered with plastic and the legs only partly covered and left abandoned,” Sgt Johanna Madiga, Norkem Park SAPS spokesperson, stated on Wednesday.
Madiga said an on-duty patrolling officer received a complaint from Tembisa stating a scene of an abandoned baby was discovered in Tortelduif Avenue.

“Ekurhuleni emergency service was contacted, to which Gauteng emergency medical reactionary services arrived at the scene. Photos of the body were taken before the scene was handed over to Germiston mortuary services.”
Police are investigating concealment of birth and appeals to anyone with information to come forward and to contact Sgt Eunice Nkuna from Norkem Park SAPS on 082 519 1446.
