Local actress turned hairstylist amid lockdown

The Kemptonian used her other talents to seek financial aid to survive, as this year has been especially hard on the entertainment industry.

Actress Sindiwe Mntonintshi (27) turned hairstylist amid lockdown to put food on the table.

The Kemptonian used her other talents to seek financial aid to survive, as this year has been especially hard on the entertainment industry.

“In our industry, people are prone to being depressed or feel anxious because of the nature of the work and cut-throat competition.

“I didn’t want to let this year get me down. I realised I can use my other talents to make money during lockdown since the pandemic has cut off the revenue streams we need to pay the bills.”

Mntonintshi was determined to not allow the pandemic to stop her from providing for her family.

“It is indeed true that if you set your mind to it, you can do it.

“I have realised the mind is the most powerful thing.”

She soon laid out a new income strategy by determining her fees and travel costs.

Her main focus was to keep expenses low and room in the budget to pay herself.

“It is always wise to try other alternatives to make ends meet and not lose focus.

“I refused to let my challenges get the best of me. I now found something that gives me a new meaning to life beyond just my acting career,” said Mntonintshi.
