Personal trainer gives tips to energise your workout

If you find yourself feeling uninspired, Leeroy Shora (25), a local personal trainer, has ways for you to improve your workouts to increase their effectiveness.

“You need to work out at least three days a week and for your pre-workout you need foods that will give you energy. Post-workout you should consume carbohydrates along with protein to repair and build new muscle tissue.

“Stretching can be a great way to release tightness and increase your range of motion when you’re sore which can make you feel better. Elevating your legs (if that’s where you’re sore) can also help. Heat can also minimise tension and pain signals.

“To set your goals you need to be realistic and specific about what you want to achieve. And remember patience is important.
“Depending on your goal weight, weight training can be good for muscle building and burning calories.

“Be realistic, focus on your goal, pick a plan that fits your lifestyle, keep track of your progress and celebrate your successes,” said Leeroy.
