KPFC’s match results
Kempton Park Football Club’s seven division match results were mixed with wins and losses.

Kempton Park Football Club’s various divisions went head to head with various teams in their different leagues and these are some of the results produced in recent matches.
SAB Castle League
After going down 1-0 to Eleven Experience over Easter, coach Eddie Dista was determined that his side reacted to the narrow defeat by beating Ekurhuleni Milan over the weekend.
Unfortunately, lack of firepower in front of goalposts was still quite obviously evident as a sterile 0-0 draw was the outcome of a drab game where few chances were created and the defences were well on top.
Dista has tried various striking combinations with little working at present and unless a striker can be found quickly it may be a long hard season for the Kempton team who have talent in abundance but just don’t seem to be able to click at present.
ILFA Super League
Kempton Super League first team slumped to a final minute defeat to a very average Impala Platinum side going down with a whimper. In a game with very little structure or pattern, Kempton failed to carve out many decent chances despite having the lion’s share of possession.
They paid the ultimate price for their profligacy when with seconds to go, winger Mbaso Thando was dispossessed near the halfway line and the subsequent one-two allowed the Impala strike to easily slot beyond goalkeeper Russel.

Top of the table and reigning champions Robertsham await at Bawden Park on Saturday. Wholesale changes and a new attitude will be required for the Kempton side to avoid last week’s outcome.
ILFA Super League Reserves
Coach Luda Mehlomakhulu pulled off a masterstroke by bringing in out of favour strikers Zivai Verenga and Rudolph “Isco” Komape who between themselves bagged five goals in a comfortable victory over Impala Platinum on Saturday afternoon.
Komape struck in the first minute in what was to become a memorable day for him. Midway through the half, Impala equalised when a crazy goal had goalkeeper Nyathi on the floor unable to clear the ball, was side-footed home by an alert Impala striker.
Thereafter, it was all Kempton. Two fabulous goals from Verenga and an exquisite right-footed shot from Komape wad it 4-1 at the break. Kempton hardly broke a sweat in the second half and when Komape made it five for the boys in red no one was surprised.
A good solid win and hopefully more to come.
Easterns Division 1 – Kempton Park A
This side followed up their 5-1 win over Thembisa Pistols with another victory, this time away at Birch Acres by four goals to nil. Goal scorers were Buti Mahlangu (two), Phiwayinkosi Sithole and Celumusa Xaba.
Easterns Division 1 – Kempton Park B
This newly formed side struggled with organisation and had not trained and it was no real surprise when they were on the end of a 7-0 thrashing by the fit and slick Thembisa Pistols. Things should improve for the team once they begin training and working out tactics.
Easterns Division 3 – Kempton Park B
The KOBs as they are known suffered a surprise 1-0 loss to Boksburg at the City Stadium on Saturday. Despite having mercurial talent on the side, lack of fitness and game time let them down in the heat. Kempton Park A await on Friday night.
Under-19 Colts
This super talented bunch of young players took on Old Bens on Sunday and although they initially struggled with the physical dimension of Old Bens’ tactics, they finally prevailed by five goals to two.
The ice was broken almost from the kick-off when a long Mashamaite ball was latched onto by Simpiwe Nkosi and rifled home off the left hand upright. After dominating for the first twenty minutes, Kempton was delivered a sucker punch when Bens broke down their left and the winger bundled the ball in. With 10 minutes of the half remaining, the sweetest of passing moves led to Dlozirlihle Mashamaite to easily side-foot beyond a static keeper. Again, the home side came back and when a long diagonal ball was well controlled and struck in almost the same movement it was 2-2 on the stroke of half-time.
It was all Kempton Park in the second half and despite butchering a hatful of chances, they eventually broke through when Munyaradzi Guvakuva blasted in from close range. It was Guvakuva who converted a cross from the right to make it four and Mashamaite completed the scoring with a perfectly placed shot with a quarter of an hour remaining.
Top of the League Luso is Kempton’s opponents on Sunday.
