Herfsland
Johannie Louw, the CEO of Herfsland, stated that their institution was registered as a vaccination station for the residents and staff of the retirement village.

Out of 112 residents, Herfsland recorded positive vaccinations of 103 residents. Among the 83 staff members, 78 got jabbed, which brought the vaccination to 94 per cent.

“Sr Colleen Goosen is trained in facilitating the vaccinations and new stock was supplied to her each day of the first phase roll-out,” She said.

Louw confirmed that the first phase was executed swiftly and that no incident of side effects or dangerous reactions were recorded among the residents and staff that received the first jab.

“Emer-G-Med’s paramedics joined in the proceedings each day and offered controlled supervision with emergency reaction vehicles on standby, in case any complications arose.

“We executed the first roll-out within a week and we will not be offering additional sessions for the first jab.”

Herfsland could not confirm when the second phase of the vaccination will be rolled out. It was requested to keep the Express updated.
