Internal Kempton SAPS investigation outcome not open to public

The internal investigation outcome of Kempton Park SAPS officials is not open to public disclosure while DA’s Mike Waters talk about Kempton crime stats.

“The internal investigation launched at Kempton Park SAPS is an internal matter between employer and employee of which the outcome is not open to the public,” the Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Capt Mavela Masondo stated on Monday.

This follows multiple attempts to reach national and Gauteng SAPS spokespeople to garner updates about the internal investigation lodged against Kempton Park SAPS officials.

The internal investigation was launched in reaction to the lack of police conduct to call forensic experts to sweep the drenched bloody GBD guest room that was discovered on May 3 in Kempton Road.

According to previous reportage by the Express, forensics was allegedly summoned to the scene on May 6.
Brig Vish Naidoo could not be reached for comment in time for publication.

Mike Bolhuis: Yolandi Botes investigation

Head of investigations, Odette van Staden, forming part of Mike Bolhuis’ team probing the murder of Yolandi Botes, told Express that the forensic report is to be released soon.

“This forensic report will establish whether Botes’ murder is linked to the bloody CBD scene in Kempton Park,” van Staden said on May 27.

While discussing Botes’ final hours, van Staden told Express that Botes did not have custody of her children.

“According to our enquiries, Botes travelled to Johannesburg, not merely to visit her children but to allegedly negotiate options with her ex-husband to regain custody.”

When asked whether Botes also had a business agenda in Gauteng, there was a discussion about media reportage that stated that Botes was a former sex worker or exotic dancer.

Is this line of work a hook in the investigation as part of Botes’ agenda for travelling in Gauteng? Further speculation among the Express readership has raised the question of whether Botes was involved with drug-related criminal activity.

“All I know in that regard is that Botes used to be an exotic dancer. In my opinion, I doubt she had a business agenda regarding sex work. However, I have been informed that Botes and her ex-husband used to be drug addicts years ago,” van Staden stated.

Van Staden also remarked that, among all the remains that were found, Botes’ torso remains missing to date, according to her knowledge.

The Villiers police officials involved with the discovery of Botes’ remains confirmed to the Express that among the body parts that were found to date was a head and a foot.
