Help local musician win awards by voting

Richard Mdluli has been nominated for the MKHMA Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards for the 2021 special category and he is pleading with the community to vote for him.

With over 22 years of experience in the music industry, Richard Mdluli, commonly known as ‘Mrijo The Havock’, is still aiming to make waves with his music tracks.

The 36-year-old Ivory Park resident describes his musical journey as one that has allowed him to serve as a role model for young people in his community.

Mduli’s music career began at a young age when he was a member of a music group called Martin, which was made up of other young people from Thembisa.

He has also worked as a music vocalist and instructor, and his passion for music grew as he shared the stage with music icons such as Pitchblack Afro, Spikir, Jakarumba, and Turbo no Seven.

“During my time in the industry, I have learned that for a career to thrive, I must respect it because respect leads to growth,” Mdluli said.

The spontaneous musician specialises in kwaito, amapiano, gospel music and he is now working on a music video for his new track titled Ama-Poktor, which is currently available on digital platforms.

“Music inspires me to work much harder, thus my objective is to encourage kwaito songs to get international recognition; my fans should be on the lookout for more great tracks in the future.”
Mdluli has been nominated for the MKHMA Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards for the 2021 special category and is pleading with the community to vote for him.
