The suspect was previously released on R1 000 bail on similar charges in which he and two other persons were arrested in North West for possession of illegal firearms and ammunition, as well as for impersonating police officers by wearing the Tshwane Metro Police uniform.
The suspect was apprehended at his residence in Extension 14, Ivory Park.
“The fact that he is being arrested for the same offence for which he was arrested is telling,” Brig David Mbongeni Ngcobo, station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, said.
“We would encourage the assigned investigating officer to actively oppose bail in this situation.”
