Workers held hostage during Chloorkop business robbery

"The staff members were taken to a bathroom and tied up."

Employees at a Chloorkop company were held hostage during a business robbery on December 9.
Sgt Barbara Ferreira, commenting on behalf of acting station commander Lt-Col KP Tsoute, said two workers arrived at the business on Element Street. While at the Covid-19 screening station, they were approached by six armed men.

“The staff members were taken to a bathroom and tied up. As other staff members arrived, their cellphones were taken and they were also taken to the bathroom where they were kept hostage,” said Ferreira.
She said the men entered the premises by jumping over a back wall.

“The suspects left the scene in a white Nissan NP200 bakkie, registration number KC 97 VN GP.”
Norkem Park SAPS opened a case of business robbery. The case will be investigated by the Thembisa Trio Unit.
