Pinky Caroline Molakeng (42) was shot and killed at her home in Birchleigh North in front of her husband, Henry, and their 10-year-old twins.
According to Sgt Barbara-Anne Ferreira, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, Pinky was in her car when she was shot.
“Her husband (Henry) reversed out of the driveway into the street to take their twins to school,” said Ferreira.
“Pinky was in her car waiting for her husband to reverse to leave for work when two men, one armed with a firearm, entered the driveway. The suspect with the firearm ran up to Pinky’s vehicle and fired four shots into the car.
“Her husband ran to the car where he found that his wife had been shot.”
Ferreira said emergency services were called to the scene and Pinky was declared dead.

Neighbours were left shocked and in disbelief when they discovered that Pinky, whom they uniformly described as amazingly sweet, was dead.
They heard the gunshots but were not sure what had happened. To their despair, they found Henry and the twins, a boy and girl, crying for their mother.
One of the neighbours, Peter Botha, was speechless as he told Express that he had spoken to Henry minutes before the shooting.
“I was telling him that one of my security beams was stolen earlier in the morning at around 4:00,” Botha told Express last Thursday evening.
“I had just put the kettle on when the alarm went off and when I looked out the window, I saw a man jump out of my yard. I was just letting Henry know what I saw and I urged him to be careful.

“When we parted ways, I went inside the house and soon after that, I heard gunshots. I was shocked to discover that his wife had been shot dead. It truly is disturbing. Crime is getting out of hand.”
Pinky was working for the Department of Housing in Alberton.
Her family is shattered and trying to cope with her murder.
“She was a loving mother, wife, sister and devoted Christian who was very ethical in nature and very soft-spoken yet assertive,” said Apostle Solly Mahlangu, the family representative.
“As a family, we are beyond shattered, more especially her children and husband who witnessed what seems like an orchestrated hit on her life. Her death was unexpected.
“There is a lot that will be missed about her but more so her laugh, devotion to her family, her service to the church and entire Ekurhuleni community.”
In initial reports on February 10, Ferreira said cases of murder and attempted hijacking would be investigated.
By February 14, she informed the Express that only a case of murder would be investigated.
